Whatever is the reason and aim, to write any book and to write on any other topic always keep some points in your mind. For children’s literature keeps some magical things in their design to attract children. You know children are innocent live in magic world blameless, quick picker and want to become a character, they believe in you what written books and accept challenges so your literature make them satisfy.  A coloring book, as the name suggests, is a book for coloring. In British English, spell colouring-in book, colouring book, or colouring pages. This sort of book is line art book to which children, adults and other people deliberated to add color-using paint with the help of brush, colored pencils, marker pens, colored pencils and other desired coloring materials. In traditional coloring books and coloring pages, prints on paper or card. Some coloring books have perforated edges so their pages can removed from the books and used as individual sheets. Other books may include a storylines and can intended to maintain as such. Today, most of the coloring books creative with cartoon characters; these are specially uses as promotional material in animated motion picture. Coloring books also includes different activities such as connected dots, mazes and puzzles many other activities for children and adults coloring books.

. Why are coloring books important for children and adults?

 Coloring books for children:

 Children like colors, main aim for creating coloring books to train kids and to polish their natural skills in a interesting task. Children’s nature is they want to do everything their self so from the early age give them simple and easy task such as a color pencil and a piece of paper or plain paper book  through which they learn how to hold pencils and grip it, drawn any lines on plain paper at the age of 2 to 3. 

Coloring books for adults;

Coloring and drawing improves fine motor skills, encourages focus, and fostering creativity in adults. It boosts confidence, develops understanding of cause and effect, and increases attention spans. Physical, Mental, and Emotional Self Care, outlined different ways to care for yourself; a method to care for special care person’s mental health was to do crafts or color. Activity on coloring books is more than just a enjoyable break from the stress of daily life, it can be very beneficial for human’s mental and emotional health.

Many blog posts and websites are online. Where you can get answers to your questions about publication on Amazon KDP. Yet, the best way to get help is Amazon KDP itself. Do you know why? When I was new and did not know anything in 2019. I started blogging in 2019. One day I saw a message on my blog post screen. “It is time to write a book for Amazon's KDP. Go Amazon.com and create an account." So from that day, I began to search how to write a book. During my search on Google, I got the name Amazon.com. I always get answers to my questions from the Amazon Help Center. I found this excellent helping site. In short, whatever I am in publishing field today due to Amazon's DP help sites.

 I am not perfect so far in writing field. I am still learning. Amazon KDP is a best place for new people in publishing field.

Choose images that make everyone happy and become a colorful activity for your target buyer. It is better that children's coloring book size and cover design keep different from your competitors. It is also up to you to choose any size of your book but more people like 8.5 inch X 11 inch.  Make sure your coloring book is high in size and design. You can do well with a portrait format 8.5 x 11 inches, and consider changing the design to make your book a little different from your competitors. You could try a landscape rather than a portrait format, design an attractive square book, or choose the beauty of the large. In any case, being a little unique will help your book stand out from the crowd. Another way to get recognition, of course, is to create a great drawing. Be careful about book cover design whether it is black and white or with different colors. Unique book cover can change shopper’s thought, to change their minds, win hearts and capture their imaginations by getting ready to buy. The book as a whole must reflect a thought-provoking design that inspires your cover.

Book cover plays an important role when a book goes up to the stores. Book cover design is tremendously essential. Do you know why? Because it makes a customer’s first impression and they decide whether to pick up your book. Therefore, you can say that the book cover is everything. The purpose of a book cover is uniquely described the subject or purpose of your art. However, that does not mean your cover needs flashy fonts and overly images it can destroy their own message by adding too much information on the cover when it goes up. Create an impressive cover design but in a unique way. Check your competitor’s books cover first.

  Book cover design on Canva:  You will enjoy when designing your KDP book cover as a self-publisher of coloring book on Amazon with KDP, now you need to think about the front, back cover and spine. it means you’re going to be designing the front, back and spine all in one. You do not worry about your book as a self-publisher when working with Amazon, they will help you from start to end without any charge. You cannot see the spine if less book pages spine will too narrow to have any content on it so it will print blank.

For this purpose you will require Amazon paperback template so go to your search browser and search Amazon book template:

 When you click on Amazon free template. Following window will appear:

I have divided these images into two but this is one template on Amazon template page.

fill the required field the click on 'download', your downloaded file is in zip folder, you unzip the folder and there is a PDF and PNG file, select PNG and save in a folder for late use.

Design book cover on Canva

Canva is a free image editing software online, so you won’t need to download it. All you need to do is sign up for a free account and start working.

On Canva you need to enter the size of your template in inches. This isn’t as simple as just adding 8.5 + 11 so you have to take into concern the margins and the front and back next to each other. You enter the height and width of your design to match your template. Find out what the width and height of your canvas, you first need to check at your dimensions on the template you downloaded from Amazon. Now click on PNG to open PNG and it will look at shown in the figures below;

 Above image was for my book that is 200 pages, you will download as per your required pages, as shown in example above, the width of your canva should be 8.5 (front cover) + 8.5 (back cover) +0.125 +0.125 (for the margin at either end) + 0.2 for the spine in case of 72 paperback, total margin up to 17.45 or again you can get help from Amazon help center.  

You need to calculate the height of blank page in canva blank template to add the height which is 1 inches and .25 (for the margin) to get your total so this will come out at 11.25 inches. After completed this work then design your cover, you can check my post on canva design and watch many videos on Youtube too. After completing cover design save as a PDF. Amazon only accepts PDF files.

My ABC pictures coloring book series (1, 2, 3, 4, and 5) designed for preschool kids aged 2 to 6. in this series, book 1 teaches the young learner how to trace on letters, and coloring, recognize name of object, and learn name of items using in activities with the help of complete guidelines written for parents/teachers on each page. To create the interior pages, you can use canva or any other software such as Microsoft word, Microsoft power point. If you want to use Canva as it’s very easy and once you’ve been creating around it. You know your work on it like a pro. For this purpose, you need to create another new custom size canva pages by entering the same page dimension as you did in your book cover design. Upload all of your designs to Canva. In a few minutes it will complete, you need to add a blank page after every design page. However, Amazon doesn’t allow to publish books with totally blank pages add some kind of text to the blank page then turn the transparency down on the text so it’s barely showing. Keep adding new pages to your design and add a blank page with a little bit of text after every design page if required depend on your book designing. When you are done, go over each page make sure that none of your designs are out beyond the borders. You can resize them and crop them to get them to fit inside the borders.

 . Save work to uploading file on Amazon Kdp

 Save it as a PDF file. You can to use it by yourself from that software where you are creating art work and to upload on Amazon or any other desired book publishing plate form on internet. (I am satisfied with Amazon, so here I will write on uploading on Amazon). If you want to publish some other online plate form, then again search in your browser for those plate form. Sell your books your Amazon and again search on your browser for uploading pdf file on Amazon. Choose Amazon from many answers of your question. Coloring books are more popular on Amazon site. You upload pdf file on Amazon as a self-publisher.  It is free. I always uploaded on this site since 2019. Coloring book genre has become most popular on this site. Upload your coloring books on Amazon or can search for other online plate form. they For uploading your children's coloring go to amazon help page and they will help every way. 

. Market of your book

 

As a new artist, you develop creativity in your marketing. Introducing yourself to new products that attract people to your art can take time and effort. You make video and upload on Youtube and on other social media and you can watch any suitable video on Youtube and also search on Google how to market books on social media. I will write an article on this topic soon but if you are in hurry (of course you have to so search on Google as I written few line above.
